BRUNSWICK, ME. 3/25/09 - The Keene State men's lacrosse team
dropped a 16-9 non-conference game to #13 ranked Bowdoin College in
Brunswick, Maine on Wednesday.
The Owls (2-2) have lost their last two games. Bowdoin
improves to 5-1.
Griffin Meehan (Simsbury, Conn.) had four goals to
lead the Owls. Casey Brodersen (Derry, N.H.)
netted two and Tony Santa Fe (Derry, N.H.),
Jamie LeSage (Exeter, N.H.), and Ryan
Stewart (Derry, N.H.) tallied one goal each. Meehan
and Brodersen top KSC in scoring with 11 goals each.
The Polar Bears spread the offense around with Adam Tracy, Matt
Legg, Owen Smith, Mark Flibotte, and Justin Star each scoring
twice.
Bowdoin led 3-2 after the first quarter and 9-5 at halftime.
The Polar Bears outscored the Owls 3-1 in the third quarter to go
up 12-6.
KSC goalies, Alec Corliss (Waltham, Mass.) and
David Brochu (Derry, N.H.) each played at
half. Corliss made six saves and Brochu stopped three shots.
Bowdoin also split the goaltending chores with Robert Burkhardt
making seven saves and Chris Williamson making four saves.
Keene State hosts UMass-Dartmouth in its first Little East game of
the season on Saturday (1 p.m.).
