KEENE, N.H. 11/10/10 – The number two seeded Keene State College Owls soared past the number seven seeded Worcester State 3-0 (25-13, 25-10, 25-15) in an ECAC Quarterfinal match at Spaulding Gymnasium. The Owls improve to 25-12 on the season, while the Lancers end their 2010 campaign with a 15-18 record.
"It was a great win for us tonight," said KSC head coach Bob Weiner. "This is only the third postseason victory for the program here and these girls have worked so hard and deserve to win a few more."
Leading the way for the Owls, sophomore Ali Facchini (Niantic, Conn.) had nine kills, a .467 hitting percentage, and six total blocks in the win. Junior's Kristen Girard (Tivoli, N.Y.) and Bridget O'Bryant (Merrimack, N.H.) had seven and six kills respectively for KSC. Junior setter Laurie Whalen (Niantic, Conn.) had 29 assists to quarterback the Owls attack, while senior libero Jamie Levine (Medford, Mass.) had 10 digs in her final home match.

The Owls advance to the ECAC Semifinals to face Plymouth State Saturday, at 5:30 p.m. at number one seed Endicott. "We've faced Plymouth twice already and I know it's going to be a battle," said Weiner. "At this point both teams know each other so well there won't be any surprises."
The finals will also be played Saturday night, at 7:30 p.m., with host Endicott taking on Colby Sawyer in the other semifinal matchup to be played at 3:30 p.m.
