KEENE, N.H. 11/20/10 – The Keene State men's basketball team recaptured its tip-off tournament title with a 105-85 win over Conn. College in the championship game of the KSC Adrenaline Circuit Tip Off Tournament at Spaulding Gym on Saturday night.  The Owls (3-0) had won nine straight tip-off crowns before losing in the championship game to Thomas College last year.  

"It was nice to get the championship back," said sophomore Cody Snow (Leyden, Mass.), who led the Owls with 16 points. "We're a deep team. When a starter comes out and we bring in a sub we don't lose much. Our bench was great tonight and for other teams that can be demoralizing."

The Owls, who hit the century mark for the second game in a row, placed five players in double-figures, In addition to Snow, sophomore Ryan Martin (Wayne, N.H.) had 15 points and seven assists, Junior Ollie Hunter (Bedford, N.H.) added 14 points, sophomore Anthony Mariano (Naugatuck, Conn.) had 13 points, and sophomore Geoff Woodbury (Hyde Park, Mass.), named the tournament most outstanding player, finished with 12 points.

"Last year we had a lot of new guys and it was a learning experience for everybody. This season we're coming together as a team," said Woodbury."

Junior Demetrius Porter (Virginia Beach, Va.) had a game high 23 points and eight rebounds to lead the Camels (1-1).  Junior Brian Mahoney (Quincy, Mass.) added 13 points, freshman Jethro Anilus (Stamford, Conn.) scored 11 points, and sophomore Rob Harrigan (Milford, Conn.) rounded out the double figure scorers for the Camels with 10 points.

The Owls led by as many as 12 points (31-19) in the first half, following five straight points by Martin, who hit a lay-up and a three-pointer from the corner. A three-pointer in the closing seconds of the half by Mahoney cut the Owls' lead to 43-37 at the break.

The Camels, who got the Owls' lead down to one point (43-42) in the opening minutes of the second half, made several runs at Keene State all night, but Martin always had an answer.  His baseline pop put KSC up 67-57 with 11:30 to go. KSC shot a scorching 63% (21-33) from the field in the second half.

Geoff Woodbury gave KSC several productive minutes off the bench.  He set up Hunter for a lay-up and then hit a three-pointer from the corner in the team's next possession to put KSC up 72-61 with 9:12 to play. The Owls put the finishing touches on the victory with dunks by Hunter and Rashad Wright (Agawam, Mass.).  Wright's slam, following a steal by sophomore Ryan Bourgeois (Bedford, N.H.), made it an 85-70 game with5:20 to play. 

In the consolation, game, Fitchburg State defeated Fisher College 61-52.  Junior Jeremy Kimber (Fitchburg, Mass.) scored 14 points, including 8-for-8 from line, sophomore Adam Fahey (Auburn Mass.) added 10 points, and junior Tom Henneberry (Lexington, Mass.) finished with nine points and 12 rebounds to lead the Falcons (1-2) to their first win of the season.

Senior Louis Williams (Burlington, Vt.) had a game high 17 points and senior Daniel Nance (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 10 points and a game-high 18 rebounds to lead Fisher College (1-6).

Fitchburg led 30-20 at halftime and never relinquished the lead.
