Box Score

KEENE, N.H.  3/27/10 – The Keene State College men's lacrosse team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 17-8 non-conference victory over Lasell College at chilly Owl Athletic Complex on Saturday.

Keene State (3-4) scored early and often, jumping out to a 6-1 lead at the end of the first quarter.  Freshman James Galloway (Simsbury, Conn.) netted two of the Owls' six goals.

After the Lasers (1-5) cut the lead to 7-3, KSC answered with the next four goals to go up 11-3 when freshman Ian Hart (Richmond, N.H.) found the back of the net.

“It was a great response after the Bowdoin game.  We were more focused and revitalized as a team,” said KSC Coach Mark Theriault.  “Our goal is to win our remaining games and keep the ball rolling.”

Sophomore Griffin Meehan (Simsbury, Conn.) had four goals and two assists for the Owls, who won 18 of the 27 face-offs. Sophomore Matt Schairer (Wrentham, Mass.) and Galloway each had three goals while sophomore Matt Crimmins (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) finished with two goals.

Senior Brian Yepez (Hillsborough, N.H.) netted three goals for Lasell, who scored six of its goals on man-up opportunities. Freshman Andy Puopolo (Duxbury, Mass.) scored twice while junior Chris Bulkley (Groton, Conn.) chipped in with four assists.

Junior Alec Corliss (Waltham, Mass.) made four saves for the Owls.

Junior Eric Walsh (Weymouth, Mass.) played the first half in goal for the Lasers and stopped five shots.  Freshman Tyler Silliman (Windsor, Conn.) made eight saves in the third and fourth quarters.
