WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS. 11/3/12 – Keene State College
competed at the ECAC Division III Cross Country Championships at
Mt. Greylock High School in Williamstown, Mass. on Saturday.
The Keene State women finished with 209 points to place sixth in
the 41-team field. Middlebury took home the championship with
31 points.
The Keene State men's team finished 10th in the 43 team
field with 333 points. Amherst won the title with 44
points.
Both KSC teams didn't race many of its top varsity runners
who won the Little East championship last week.
Sophomore Riley Wilk (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) was
the top finisher for the Owl women's team, placing 25th with
a time of 24:10 on the tough 6K course. Junior Erin
Duffy (Merrimack, N.H.) was KSC's second runner,
placing 31st with a time of 24:20. Freshman Lauren
Markoe (Lagrangeville, N.Y.), who was 42nd (24:39), junior
Mackenzie Curtis (Lemoine, Me.), who was 58th
(25:04), and junior Brianna Enderson (Manchester,
N.H.), who was 63rd (25:07) round out the top finishers for Keene
State.
Jennifer Van Winger, a junior from Drew (N.J.) University won
the race with a time of 22:55.
Freshman Brandon Davis O'Donnell (Nashua,
N.H.) was the first runner to the finish line for the KSC
men's team. He finished 29th on the 8K course with a
time of 27:37. Junior Nick Riendeau
(Canterbury, N.H.) was KSC's second man, placing 37th with a
time of 27:45.
Other top finishers for the Owls included: freshman
Mark Rabasco (Pittsfield, Mass.), who was 69th
(28:33), junior Jay Borden (Keene, N.H.), who was
80th (28:47), and senior Chance Wilk (Burn Hills,
N.Y.), who was 122nd (29:34).
Sam Haney, a senior from Tufts, won the race with a time of
26:23.
Keene State will compete in the New England Regional
championships in Westfield, Mass. next Saturday.
