KEENE, N.H.--The Keene State College women's cross country team placed five runners in the top 10, cruising to a first place team finish at the Keene State College Invitational at a rainy Owl Athletic Complex.
Samantha Goldsmith was KSC's highest finisher, crossing the 5K course in exactly 19:00 for third place. Teammate Kait Wheeler was in fifth in 19:11, while Lindsay Szuch was in seventh place in 19:26. Kaley Mientkiewicz finished in ninth place in 19:36, one second ahead of Carli Davis, who placed 10th in 19:37.
The five KSC scorers were enough to give the Owls a dominant team win - KSC finished with 34 points, well ahead of second placed Brandeis, which finished with 53 points despite having the top two individual finishers. The Judges' Maddie Dolins won the individual medal in 18:46, while teammate Kelsey Whitaker was second in 18:54.
The Owls return to action on October 11, at the Open New England Championships.
