MASON, Ohio--Keene State College junior Samantha Goldsmith finished 106th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships at the King Island Golf Center on Saturday.
Goldsmith, who was making her first ever trip to the NCAA national race, covered the 6k course in 23:16.4.
"The course was very tough," said assistant coach Ryan Widzgowski. "The area had received six inches of snow on Monday, and there was freezing rain this morning. Combine that with the 300 men who raced first and the course was not in the best shape. Sammy had a few nerves but finished strong. She's already excited for next season and getting back to the national stage."
Johns Hopkins won the team title with 87 points, while Amy Regan of Stevens Tech was the individual national champion.
