WINNECONE, Wis.--Kait Wheeler, Samantha Goldsmith, and Carlis Davis all finished in the top 100 as the Keene State College women's cross country team finished 22nd at the 2015 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships at Lake Breeze Golf Course on Saturday.
Keene State, which was making just its second team appearance at the NCAA Championship and first since 2006, saw Wheeler lead the way with a 51st place finish out of 280 runners in 22:12.10. Â
Goldsmith, who finished 106th last year, was 60th overall in 22:17.40, and Davis was 81st in 22:26.90. Â Lindsay Szuch (22:48.30, 124th), Molly Schaefer (23:57.20, 209th), Katelyn Terry (24:03.60, 215th), and Cara Colotti (24:17.00, 218th) completed the Owl contingent.
Williams College won the women's team title with 81 points. Â Abrah Masterson of Cornell College (Iowa) won the individual medal in 21:23.10. Â
Keene State's male representative, Hayden Patterson, finished in 252nd place on the 8K course in 26:33.30. Â Wisconsin-Eau Claire took the men's team title with 135 points, while Ian LaMere of Wisconsin-Platteville was the top individual in 23:35.40.
