Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. – Rob Hart and Tyler McKelvie led the Owls with four goals apiece as the Keene State men's lacrosse team came away with a 15-9 win at Disney's Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla. Monday afternoon.
Tyler Reilly and McKelvie scored the first two goals of the game to up 2-0. Thomas Piazza responded to put Geneseo on the board, but two more goals from Reilly and McKelvie would strike again two minutes apart as the Owls took a 4-1 lead with 10:30 remaining in the first quarter. Tim Wright added a tally for the Knights to make it 4-2 at the end of the first stanza.
At 7:43 in the second, Geneseo tallied a man-up goal to bring the Knights within one, 4-3, but Keene State responded by scoring three unanswered goals to take a 7-3 advantage into halftime.
With 7:52 on the clock in the third quarter, Cory Gleasman made it t a 7-4 game off an assist from Cregan. However, the Owls received two goals from Rob Hart and tallies by Ryan Hart and Bryan Rotatori to extend their lead to eight, 12-4, which they took into the final period.
With a comfortable lead of 15-6, Geneso tacked on three-straight goals in just over thirty seconds but were unable to overcome the nine-goal deficit.
Dylan Florian earned the win in net recording 15 saves, while Alex Howell made 17 saves for the Knights.
The Owls held a significant advantage in ground balls (40-28) and outshot Geneseo 44-43.
Keene State returns to the field Thursday against Hamilton College at Northeast Regional Park in Davenport, Fla.
