Scoreless Fourth Quarter Results in 17-10 Loss to Hamilton

DAVENPORT, Fla. - The Keene State College men's lacrosse team was shutout in the fourth quarter as they dropped their final game in Florida Hamilton College, 17-10.

Hunter Arnold and Ryan Hart each scored three goals for the Owls (3-3), while Tyler McKelvie added two goals and two assists. Pax Anthos led the way for Hamilton (5-2) scoring four and Sam Sweet and J.D. Brachman each finished with three goals.

Brachman scored the first goal of the game, which was answered by Keene State's Ryan Hart. Dan Cahill found John Zimmerman at the 7:27 mark for Hamilton, but Ryan Hart and McKelvie scored back-to-back in a span of 32 seconds to take a 3-2 lead with 6:16 left in the first quarter. The Continentals would tack on two goals for the 4-3 advantage going into the second quarter.

Hunter Arnold tied the game on a pass from McKelvie 11 seconds into the quarter, but Hamilton went on a three goal spurt for a 7-4 lead midway through the second. Arnold and Hart brought the Owls to within 7-6, however Hamilton would score two of the game's next three goals for a 9-7 lead at halftime.

The third quarter remained scoreless until KSC received goals from Tyler Reilly and Rob hart to tie the game at 9-9, but that was shortlived as Sam Sweet's two scores gave Hamilton another two goal advantage (11-9). McKelvie's tally with 1:13 would be the last goal the Owls would score in the game. 

The Continentals had a strong fourth quarter tacking on five unanswered goals, including two by Matt Hrvatin.

Dylan Florian and Alex Sharp split time in net combining for seven saves in the KSC net, while Will Driscoll made 17 stops for the Continentals.

Hamilton held advantages in ground balls (52-33) and shots (46-37).

The Owls return home and will host Bates Wednesday, March 25 at 5:00 p.m. at Owls Athletic Complex.
