NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.--The Keene State College men's lacrosse team won their 31st consecutive Little East Conference regular season game with a 19-10 road victory over UMass Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon.

Tale of the Tape

  • The Owls, who last lost to LEC competition in the regular season on April 7, 2012, outscored the Corsairs 8-1 in the first quarter and never let UMass Dartmouth back in the game.
  • Tyler McKelvie led the way with five goals and an assist; the senior sharpshooter now has 13 goals in his last three games.
  • Rob Hart had four goals and two assists, Tyler Reilly had four goals, and Paul Beling had three goals and one assist.
  • Mathew Howe played the first half with five saves in the KSC net, while Alex Sharp had 11 saves in 30 second half minutes. 


First Half Highlights

  • Hart and Reilly scored seconds apart in the opening minute of the game, but the Corsairs responded with an unassisted goal from Bo Prozinski.
  • The Owls poured on the offense to end the quarter, as Reilly and McKelvie netted two goals and Bryan Rotatori and Hart one each in a 6-0 burst that finished out the period.
  • McKelvie scored twice in the opening minutes of the second quarter, but the Corsairs made a game of it, scoring the final five goals of the stanza to get within 10-6 at halftime.  Prozinski and DJ Miller each scored twice during that span, with another from Tyler Prentice as UMass Dartmouth took advantage of three minutes of KSC penalties in the second period.


Second Half Highlights

  • Beling had a hand in all three KSC goals in the third quarter; the sophomore scored the first himself before setting up Rob Hart.  Prentice notched another for the Corsairs before Beling scored again as KSC led 13-7 at the end of the third period.
  • The Owls potted the first four goals of the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.  Rotatori scored his second of the game with 12:25 left, and Frank Bacarella scored a minute later, an unassisted tally.
  • Hart and Reilly added goals for a 17-7 lead before the Corsairs scored through Prentice and Steve Merrick.
  • Beling and McKelvie scored again for a 19-9 lead.  UMD would get the final goal of the game through Alex Lucas.
