HANOVER, N.H.--The 2016 season got underway for the Keene State College cross country teams at the Dartmouth Invitational, held at Hanover Country Club on Saturday.
Racing against largely Division I Dartmouth and UMass Lowell, as well as one of the traditional powers in Division III in Middlebury, the Owls got strong performances from Lindsay Suzch and Iid Sheikh-Yusuf.
Women's Results
- Szuch, a senior, placed 11th overall in 23:55.58, while Katelyn Terry was 22nd in 25:37.24, just ahead of Alyssa Lombardi, who was 23rd in 25:39.11.
- Rachel Klaski crossed the line in 26:07.84, while freshman Lauren Perkowski navigated the 6K course in 26:19.40.
- Alana Olendorf (27:33.23), Lindsey Terry (28:01.45), Brittany Gravallese (28:08.89), Emily Jarka (28:13.18), and Aimee Krafft (28:49.25) rounded out the Owl contingent.
Men's Results
- Skeikh-Yusuf turned in a time of 26:16.81, placing 15th overall on the men's 8K course, with junior Philip Parent the next Owl to cross the line in 26:54.09.
- Ben MacDonald finished in 27:19.14, while Ian Connell completed the race in 27:32.20.
- Tyler DeChane (28:46.24), Gavin Thomas (29:20.66), Tristram Patoine (30:26.30), and Alex Medina (32:51.92) made up the rest of the Owl harriers.
Keene State continues the season with UMass Dartmouth Invitational on September 17.
