Box Score DANBURY, Conn. - The Keene State women's soccer program held a 20-14 shot advantage over Little East Conference (LEC) defending champion Western Connecticut State, but the Owls fell to the Colonials 2-0 in LEC play on Saturday afternoon at the Westside Athletic Complex.

How It Happened
Keene State almost struck midway through the first half, when the Owls earned three corner kicks in a span of three minutes, but senior Taylor Farland's shot was blocked and senior Katie Silegy's chance went wide. The two teams battled to a 0-0 score at halftime, before the Colonials were able to score the first goal of the game in the 61st minute, after Aileen Mahoney converted a penalty kick to give the home side the 1-0 advantage. Keene State tried to answer back quickly just over a minute later, but junior Patricia Norton's header shot off a free kick was saved by the Colonials' goalkeeper Jillian Fernandez.
In the 76th minute, Western Connecticut State doubled their lead when Andrea DeVoe sent a cross to Mahoney, who finished into the back of the net, to push the score to 2-0, WCSU. Keene State was awarded a penalty kick of their own in the 84th minute, but the chance was saved by Fernandez to perserve the shutout for the Colonials.
