- Keene State: 5-7-1, 2-2 LEC
- UMass Dartmouth: 1-8-1, 0-4 LEC
How It Happened
Keene State outshot the Corsairs 17-7, and 8-3 in shots on goal, but struggled to generate scoring opportunities in the first half, though
Rachel Souza tested UMass Dartmouth goalie Katharine Hubbard with a long distance effort with eight minutes left before halftime.
Kennedy also had the key play of the first half, making a key slide tackle on UMD's Sarah Vieira to block her shot with 1:21 remaining in the period.
Alexa Skinner had the best chance for Keene State in the second half, as her free kick from 40 yards out nearly fooled Hubbard, who had to tip it over the crossbar. Kennedy then headed into Hubbard's arms from the resulting corner.
Kennedy made sure the Owls would not play overtime, picking up the ball on the edge of the box and curling a shot past the outstretched arm of Hubbard. Keene State then ran out the clock, as the Corsairs could only manage Bella Medeiros' tame effort that was wrapped up by Terrinca.
