How it Happened
From the opening start, Keene State took control of the ball on offense. Rachel Braun would take the first shot of the game that was handled by Plymouth State keeper Amaya Rogers. Just 6:51 into the game, KSC would get their best opportunity of the game as senior captain Maggie Vogt was taken down inside the box and was awarded with a penalty shot for the second straight game. For the second straight game, Vogt was able to tuck the ball into the lower left corner of the net, fooling Rogers to give the Owls the 1-0 lead. Vogt strikes for her second goal of the season and fifth of her career. Plymouth State saw their best chances of the half come in the 14th and 17th minutes of the game. Ashley Plante was able to get a shot off for Plymouth that was denied by Abbie Terrinca. Senior Mallory Lloyd followed up the chance by Plante with one of her own, though Terrinca denied that chance as well, keeping Plymouth State scoreless.

KSC would use Terrinca's saves as momentum boosters as the Owls would turn on their offensive prowess midway through the first half. Keene State was awarded a corner kick in the 27th minute that they were able to capitalize on. Freshman Alexa Skinner took the cross that was deflected perfectly off the head of junior captain Alex Kennedy and into the net, giving the Owls the 2-0 lead. Kennedy picks up her second career goal with the Owls and first on the 2021 spring season. Skinner grabs her first collegiate point with the assist. Just seven minutes after the Kennedy goal for Keene State, Kayleigh Marshall would score one of her own putting the Owls ahead by three. Marshall was able to track down a long ball that sent her in one on one with GK Amaya Rogers that Marshall was able to slot into the back of the net. Marshall collects her first of the season and fourth career goal. The Owls would take a commanding 3-0 lead heading into the second half.

The second half was much like the first for Keene State as they were able to control much of the play. Keene State got their next opportunity to score in the 60th minute of the game when freshman Maya Baker tracked down a loose ball going towards goal and took a shot just inside the box that hit the crossbar and found its way over the goal line to give KSC the 4-0 lead. Baker scores her fifth of the season, a team high. Plymouth State found their offensive game late in the second half, but they were unable to shoot anything by the Owls GK Abbie Terrinca as Terrinca made all three saves in the second half, and all six saves in the game securing the win for Keene State. It is Terrinca's first shut out of the season. Keene State would win their final home game of the shortened season by a score of 4-0.
