How it Happened
The teams traded opportunities in the opening stanza, with
Amanda Marshall testing Salve goalie Georgia Drake in the opening two minutes, while Zoe Cox did the same for the Seahawks, only to be stuffed by KSC stopper
Abbie Terrinca.
Allison Yanski and
Maya Baker also put shots on target, but Drake was there to make the stop. Salve's Molly Breslin put a header wide in the final seconds of the first half.  Â
Amanda Marshall had the first opportunity of the second half as well, but Drake made another save, and at the other end, Cox netted an unassisted tally to put the Seahawks in front.  Three minutes later, Salve Regina had doubled the lead, as Cat Hunter set up Meagan McLaughlin for her third goal of the season.
The Owls struggled to generate offense after that, and the Seahawks iced the win with a goal from Olivia Pickard in the 73rd minute.  Terrinca made a pair of stops for the Owls, while Drake made seven saves in net for the Seahawks.
