GORHAM, Maine – The Keene State College women's soccer team kept up early with the University of Southern Maine before losing 6-2 Saturday at Hannaford Field.

How it Happened
Keene State scored the first goal of the game at 15:20 when senior midfielder
Amanda Marshall set up her sister
Kayleigh Marshall, who then scored to give the Owls a 1-0 lead. Junior forward Catriona Gould responded for Southern Maine by scoring less then a minute later at 16:17 to tie the match at one. The Owls and Huskies would remain tied heading into halftime.
Southern Maine would strike first in the second half with a goal by graduate forward Ciera Berthiaume to give the Huskies a 2-1 lead at 47:49. Keene State got a goal right after that from freshman midfielder
Riley Devine, her first collegiate goal, at 48:37 to tie the match at two.
But Southern Maine attacked quickly off the ensuing kickoff and got another goal from Berthiaume just seven seconds later at 48:44 to give Southern Maine the lead again at 3-2. After that, the Huskies got goals from sophomore midfielder Julia McKenna, freshman forward Riley Reitchel and senior forward Katie Lynch to secure the win.

Southern Maine will host Brandeis University on Sunday at 1 p.m.
