Men’s Soccer Holds on to Beat UMass-Dartmouth 2-1

KEENE, N.H. – The Keene State College men's soccer team got two goals in the second half to beat UMass-Dartmouth 2-1 Saturday at Dr. Ron Butcher Field.

How it Happened
The game remained scoreless until at 74:27, when sophomore midfielder Caleb Harmon took a pass off a corner kick and scored from outside of the box for his second goal of the season. Senior forward Mbambi Mbungu made it 2-0 Owls at 79:37 with his fourth goal of the season after the Corsairs turned the ball over in their own end.
 
UMass-Dartmouth got back into the match at 85:23 with a goal by junior forward Joey Paiva. But the Owls were able to hold on for the final four-and-a-half minutes to win their second Little East Conference match of the year.

  • Keene State now has a record of 19-8-3 against UMass-Dartmouth.
  • Freshman goalkeeper Leo Kopicko made his first collegiate start for the Owls, picking up a career-high four saves in the win.
