Men's Lacrosse Win Streak Snapped In 22-5 Loss to Clarkson

DAVENPORT, Fla.--Sebastian Geiger scored seven goals to lead undefeated Clarkson University to a 22-5 win over Keene State College in non-conference men's lacrosse action at Northeast Regional Park on Tuesday afternoon.

How it Happened

The Golden Knights netted six times in the first six minutes of the game, with Geiger scoring twice and setting up two more goals before the Owls got on the board.  Andrew Miller netted Keene State's first goal of the season off a feed from Joe Nutting following a man-up situation, and that was followed by a goal from Colby Quiet that made it a 6-2 game with 5:17 left in the first quarter.

Geiger netted the next three for Clarkson, and Andrew Kearney added another for a 10-2 lead after the first quarter.    The Golden Knights kept the goals flowing, outscoring the Owls 7-0 in the second period for a 17-2 lead at the break.

Brendan DiSilva netted a lone goal for the Owls in the third quarter, while Nathan Sickles and Rex Maccarini scored in the fourth quarter to set the final score.  Chase Chamberlin started and made five saves in 17:47 in net.    Baylor Bridges played the final 42:13 and made 10 stops.

  • Bridges' 10 saves represented a career high.
  • Clarkson outshot the Owls 51-21, including a 37-16 edge in shots on goal.

  • Keene State will remain in Florida and take on another school from Northern New York, facing Nazareth on March 19 at 4 p.m.   That game will be played at the Naimoli Family Complex at the University of Tampa.
  • Clarkson will take on The College of Wooster on March 18 at noon.
