DANBURY, Conn. – In its first Little East Conference game of the 2022 season, the Keene State College women's soccer team fell to defending conference champion Western Connecticut State University Friday at Westside Athletic Complex.

How it Happened
The Wolves struck first 5:31 into the match when sophomore forward Suzana Imetovski slipped past the Keene State defense and led a fast break before shooting the ball past freshman goalkeeper
Riley Andriski into the bottom-right corner of the net. Senior Myah Croze, who assisted that goal, scored later at 27:36 after senior Julia DePalma kicked the ball from near midfield to the front of the box. Croze then struck the ball into the upper-right corner of the net, giving the Wolves a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
The Owls got back into the match early in the second half, when at 47:49, junior defender
Alexa Skinner sent a free kick into the box. Freshman midfielder
Bella Balsama then scored her first collegiate goal to make it a 2-1 deficit for KSC.
Keene State would be unable to find the equalizer. WestConn got another goal by senior Samantha Larkin at 62:03 off a corner kick, as the Wolves picked up their second LEC victory of the season.
