How it Happened
The Owls got their first goal at 12:28 when sophomore defender
Brandon Comire headed a corner kick by senior forward
Mbambi Mbungu into the net for his first goal of the season. Keene State would enter halftime up 1-0.
It would not take long in the second half for the Owls to find the back of the net again. On the opening kick-off, Mbungu passed the ball to senior midfielder
Denis Fleming. Fleming then kicked the ball from near midfield, with the shot just beyond the reach of MCLA sophomore goalkeeper Ryan Taylor. Fleming's first goal of the season gave the Owls a 2-0 lead at 45:05, but the team was not done scoring.
At the 68:25 mark, sophomore midfielder
Caleb Harmon sprinted across nearly half the field with the ball before scoring his first collegiate goal. With the Owls up 3-0, freshman forward
Nick Henao Vasquez took over the match.
Vasquez scored his first collegiate goal at 77:46 to put the Owls up 4-0. Less than six minutes later at 83:28, the forward scored again after getting a pass from sophomore midfielder
Matthew Monteserin and kicking the ball into the upper net, giving the Owls a 5-0 lead.
