How it Happened
The Owls pressured the Rams early in the contest, but after the Rams' goalkeeper, Madison Magone, saved the first shot on goal from Bryn Dickinson for the Owls, she was unable to save the second shot. Emily O'Connell put KSC ahead after she sent a corner kick into the box that Riley Devine kicked right into the back of the net and past Magone to give KSC a 1-0 lead, 7:02 into play. Magone saved three more shots in a row from the Owls, with the third shot coming from O'Connell, but Magone was unable to corral the rebound and just 29 seconds after entering the contest as a sub, Joclynn Tyler fired the ball past Magone to put KSC up a pair in the 29th minute. O'Connell picked up her third assist of the day in the Owls' final goal of the opening half, as it was nearly identical to the first goal scored of the day. O'Connell sent a pass into the Rams' box off a corner kick, but this time, it found Elise Saab, who scored her first career collegiate goal with a header into the net in the 38th minute. Neither team scored the rest of the half, as the Owls took their 3-0 lead into the half.

Magone denied the first two shot attempts from the Owls in the first seven minutes of the second half, O'Connell and Elizabeth Tschudin ran a give-and-go that connected and put KSC up by four. O'Connell took the pass from Tschudin then lead her with a pass right back towards the Rams' goal and through FSU's defenders, leading to Tschudin kicking the one timer off Magone's mitts and into the back of the net in the 54th minute. FSU looked to start to make their comeback attempt, but the Owls' goalkeeper, Riley Andriski, denied Hailey Ring of the breakaway opportunity. KSC nearly tacked on the fifth goal of the game shortly after, following a corner kick, but Magone denied the shots from Tschudin and Claire Halligan to limit the lead to four. In the closing minutes of the contest, FSU recorded a pair of shots on goal, but Andriski saved them both. With the first coming on another breakaway opportunity from Ring with 1:56 left to play, and then in the closing seconds, Andriski secured the shutout 4-0 win over the Rams with a save on Megan McAuliffe's shot
