How it Happened

Keene State never trailed in this one, taking a 2-1 lead on Widenfeld's first tally of the afternoon and expanding to a 7-2 lead as Jack Ansart and Miller capitalized on an illegal body check penalty issued to MMA by scoring twice in a 22 second span towards the end of the first period.

The goals continued to flow - the Buccaneers scored the first of the second period, but then conceded the next five as the Owls opened up a 12-3 lead, including two more man up goals, before MMA netted the final two of the period to trim the lead to 12-5 at halftime.

Quinn Mucha's goal with 4:49 left in the third quarter brought the buccaneers to within five at 14-9, but it proved to be the last goal they would score, as senior netminder Charlie GIuliotti (three saves in 55:26) kept Mass. Maritime off the board and the Owls netted five times in the final quarter.

Colby Quiet contributed three goals and an assist and also won 14 of 21 face-offs, while Rex Maccarini added two goals and three assists.
