Colby Quiet. Southern Maine starting goalkeeper, Addison Dietz, made three saves in net over the next few minutes, which allowed the Huskies to tie the game up at one apiece with 8:16 remaining in the quarter. The Owls responded back with five unanswered goals the rest of the quarter, with Wiedenfeld scoring the Owls' second goal, from
Sebastian Foresi, just over a minute later. 58 seconds later, Quiet scored the third goal, following another faceoff win by
Gabe Pereira for KSC. With 4:39 left in the quarter,

Charlie Giuliotti made a save in net a minute later, it resulted in
Andrew Miller scoring the fifth goal for KSC on the other side of the field. After another faceoff win by Pereira, Quiet netted the sixth goal for KSC with 2:11 left in the first. The Owls' defense locked down the Huskies the rest of the quarter to keep the score 6-1, as
Dylan Fadale and
Colby Cala each caused a turnover on defense for the Owls.
Fadale opened the second quarter with a caused turnover on defense, just as he did to end the first half for the Owls, but this time is resulted in a KSC goal on the offensive end, as
Rex Maccarini scored a goal from Quiet, to make it six consecutive goals for KSC. Following a save from Giuliotti, the Huskies recovered the ball and were able to sneak a shot past him, as Schuyler Wetmore scored a man-up goal as the penalty was expiring for the Owls with 10:48 left in the opening half. Following a caused turnover on defense by
Ty Cougler, Quiet scored the Owls' eighth goal of the day, and following a faceoff win by
Jack Theriault for KSC,
Jaheim Lancaster assisted Foresi for goal number nine. Cougler caused another turnover on defense a few minutes later, and it once again led to a goal from the Owls, as Chris Pragley scored his first career collegiate goal, in his first career game, to put KSC up 11-2. After entering the net at the start of the second quarter, USM goalkeeper, Wyatt McIntrye, made five saves in net over the two minutes following Prangley's goal, but he was unable to make a sixth, as
Tim Souza was able to fire a shot past him with 2:14 remaining in the opening half. The Huskies netted the final goal of the first half from another goal from Wetmore, to move the score to 12-3 for KSC heading into halftime.
KSC went on another five-goal scoring run to open off the second half, as
Jack Ansart started the scoring in the third, following a caused turnover by
Tim Kelleher, with 11:35 remaining in the quarter. Freshman goalkeeper,
Ryan Valentine, started the third quarter between the pipes for the Owls and he made three consecutive saves for KSC, following Ansart's goal, which eventually led to
Jake Dubiel picking up his first collegiate point from an assist to
Chris Adriaansen. Theriault won the ensuing faceoff for KSC, and Lancaster scored goal number 15 for the Owls, just 65 seconds after Adriaansen's. Wiedenfeld scored his third goal of the game 32 seconds later, to increase the Owls' lead to 13. Through the rest of the quarter, each team tallied a goal, as a caused turnover on defense for KSC led to a goal from Souza. While USM tallied the final goal of the quarter, from Patrick O'Driscoll, making the score 17-4 heading into the final 15 minutes of play.
The Owls continued to log career firsts on the day as
Sean Bosworth scored his first career collegiate goal to open the scoring in the fourth. Shortly after, McIntrye made a save in net for the Huskies, but on the clear attempt, he turned the ball over right to
Henry Frechette of the Owls, who also netted his first career collegiate goal coming in his first appearance.
Cameron Smith entered the game at the beginning of the fourth quarter as the Owls' goalkeeper and he made his three saves on his first three shots faced in the quarter. His three saves led to
Jakob Curtiss scoring his first goal of the season, to put KSC up 20-4 with 6:29 left to play in the quarter. Just over a minute later, O'Driscoll scored his second goal for the Huskies, and following a dead-ball penalty on the Huskies,
