How It Happened
The Owls tied the largest number of goals that they have scored in a quarter this season in the opening 15 minutes of play against the Vikings, as they scored seven goals in the first quarter. KSC netted the first two goals of the game in the first 1:19 of play, as Colby Quiet assisted Rex Maccarini for the opening goal, and following a faceoff win by Gabe Pereira, Dylan Seymour assisted Jack Ansart for his first goal of the game. Vikings' goalkeeper, Ryan Cohen, made a save on the next two Owls' shots on goal, but following the second save, Jaheim Lancaster picked up the ground ball and ripped a shot past Cohen to put the Owls up 3-0. After Pereira won the ensuing faceoff, KSC scored their fourth of the day, just 22 seconds later. Goal number five for KSC came 54 seconds later, as Maccarini scored his second of the game. Over the next few minutes, KSC's goalkeeper, Charlie Giuliotti, made two saves on the Vikings' next two shots on goal to keep them off the board in the first quarter. After Giuliottis' saves, Ty Cougler caused a turnover on defense for the Owls, which led to Justin Miller collecting the ground ball, running down the field in transition, and firing a shot past Cohen, for his first career collegiate goal, to put KSC up 6-0 with 3:12 left in the first. The final goal of the opening quarter came with 53 seconds remaining, as Lancaster caused a turnover on a SSU clear attempt, collected the ground ball, and picked up the assist as he fed a pass over to Jack Ansart, who scored KSC's seventh goal of the day, to give the Owls a 7-0 lead heading into the second quarter.

KSC made a goalie change to open the second quarter, as freshman Ryan Valentine entered the crease for the Owls. Valentine made a save on the opening shot attempt for the Vikings, and on the Owls' ensuing offensive possession, as the shot clock was winding down, Connor Woods sent a pass from behind the goal to Maccarini just outside the edge of the crease and with one second left on the shot clock, Maccarini got the pass and fired a behind-the-back shot past Cohen to beat the shot clock and put the Owls up by eight. The Owls' ninth consecutive goal came as a result of Dylan Fadale causing a turnover on defense for KSC, and just shortly after his teammate, Henry Frechette, hit the post, Fadale collected the ground ball and rifled a shot into the back of the net, with 10:12 left in the opening half. Cohen made four saves in net for the Vikings over the next 1:58, which led to SSU picking up their first goal of the day, coming from Cameron Collins. KSC responded right back with a goal 12 seconds later, as Miller picked up the ground ball and recorded his first career collegiate assist, on a goal from Connor Woods. Woods picked up an assist on the Owls next goal, 22 seconds later, as KSC capitalized on a man-up opportunity, on a goal from Frechette. With 3:27 left, in the half, Frechette picked up an assist, as Bobby DeFeo scored his first career collegiate goal to put KSC up 12-1. Timothy Eddings scored the final goal of the opening half, for SSU's second goal of the day, making the score 12-2 for the Owls heading into the half.

KSC continued to rotate goalkeepers entering the third quarter, as Sam Giuliotti entered the crease for the Owls. Giuliotti saved the first shot attempt from the Vikings in the third, and then shortly after on the other end of the field, Jake Dubiel scored a goal for KSC, to increase the lead to 13-2 with 10:04 left in the quarter. Dubiel added another point on the next goal from KSC, as he assisted Chris Prangley for his second goal in as many games. Pereira once again won the ensuing faceoff for Owls, which led to Woods netting another goal, 35 seconds after Prangley's. Woods picked up his fifth point of the day with 3:56 left in the third, as he assisted on another goal from Frechette. KSC picked up two more goals across the remainder of the quarter, as they took advantage of a two-minute locked-in penalty on Cohen, as Jack Zenger entered the crease while Cohen served his penalty. The first of the two man-up goals came from Dubiel, as Woods picked up another assist, and then following yet another faceoff win from Pereira, Frechette assisted DeFeo for the second of the two goals, just seven seconds after the previous one. Sam Giuliotti recorded two more saves through the rest of the quarter, to keep the score 18-2 heading into the final 15 minutes of play.

Cameron Smith entered the crease for the Owls at the start of the final quarter and saved the Vikings' first shot attempt, 4:45 into the fourth. KSC scored first in the quarter, as Dubiel assisted Jason Madden for his first goal of the year. Following another save from Smith later in the quarter, the Vikings capitalized on a man-up advantage, as their Cameron Smith, a freshman attack, scored a goal past the Owls' Cameron Smith, the freshman goalkeeper, for the final goal of the contest, as Smith made another pair of saves through the remainder of the contest and the Owls picked up the 19-3 win over the Vikings.
