How It Happened
The Tigers pounced on Keene State with three goals in nearly the blink of an eye. Â RIT opened the scoring in the 4th minute as Rom Wasserman bent in a free kick and Daniel Gebura powered a header from the inside of the penalty area.
Four minutes later, RIT doubled the advantage with another goal as John Lucas slid home a pass from Jake Donahue, and two minutes after that, it was 3-0 as Adrian Sobczak pounced on a loose ball in the box to bundle home from close range.
It went to bad to worse for the Owls as
Amlyl Aitdowd received a two yellow cards in quick succession in the 14th minute, forcing the Owls to play a man down for the remainder of the game.
Keene State reduced arrears in the 18th minute when
Caleb Harmon scored off his own rebound, but the Owls did not score again until the 85th minute, when
Stephen Kallestad's ball across the box fell to Christian Correa, who scored his second of the year to make it a 3-2 game, but Keene State could not find a third goal.
Ali Alzawar was given a straight red card in the final minutes for denying a goal scoring opportunity as the game wound down.
