PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Keene State College and Eastern Connecticut State University are tied for first place in the 2025-2026 Little East Conference (LEC) Commissioner's Cup Standings through the conclusion of the fall sports seasons, it was announced by the conference office Wednesday. Both institutions had a scoring average of 7.00 points.
For sports in which the LEC conducts in-season play (baseball, basketball, field hockey, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball), points are determined by the ranked order of finish in the final regular season standings. For sports that do not conduct in-season play (cross country, golf, swimming & diving, track & field), points are awarded based on the order of finish at the LEC championship meet.
The Warriors won the LEC regular season championship in field hockey and women's soccer, which was also highlighted by finishing runner-up in men's golf and finishing third among LEC teams at the inaugural women's golf championship. Each of Eastern Connecticut's teams finished fifth or better in the eight fall championship sports it competes in.
The Owls had six of their eight fall programs finish in the top-three in the conference standings. Keene State won the first-ever LEC women's golf championship in addition to taking home the men's cross country title, placed second in women's cross country and the regular season field hockey standings, and finished third at the men's golf championship.
The University of Southern Maine sits in third place in the LEC Commissioner's Cup Standings. The Huskies fall slate saw them win the men's golf championship, finish second among conference teams at the women's golf championship, and place third in men's cross country, field hockey, men's soccer and women's soccer.
Eastern Connecticut and Keene State are the only two institutions to win the LEC Commissioner's Cup. The Owls own a conference-record 18 LEC Commissioner's Cup wins and have won the award each of the past two academic years. The Warriors won the LEC Commissioner's Cup championship for six consecutive years from 2016-2017 through 2022-2023.
