PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Luke Belisle netted his team-leading third goal of the season in the 53rd minute for the Keene State College men's soccer team to break the scoreless contest on the road at Rhode Island College, but the Anchormen responded with a pair of goals 20 minutes later, just seven minutes apart, and KSC was unable to respond, dropping the contest in the end 2-1.

How it Happened

RIC was on the attack early and often, recording eight shots over the opening 18 minutes of the contest, but Tommaso Lorrai held strong in goal for the Owls as he saved all three shots from the Anchormen on target over the timespan. Over the 18-minute timespan, KSC recorded two shots, but with just one on target as Elhadji Ndoye saved Luke Hartshorn's shot on goal. Over the next 15 minutes RIC continued to apply the pressure with three corner kicks and three shots, but Lorrai saved the one shot on frame from the Anchormen denying Donovan Calle. The remainder of the opening half Edoardo Tambini hoped to find the back of the net for the second consecutive game for the Owls, but Ndoye made another save, keeping the contest scoreless heading into the half.

KSC opened off the second half with their opening shot finding the back of the net as Belisle netted his third goal of the season with 37:36 remaining. Lorrai saved the next shot again for KSC from the Anchormen, but 20 minutes after Belisle's goal, RIC sent a ball behind the Owls' defense into the box, leading to Logan Santos tying the game up with 17:13 remaining to play. Both goalkeepers made a pair of saves over the next four minutes before Kody Poplaski ripped a shot on Lorrai that he saved, but was unable to corral the shot, leading to Nathan Capelo putting the rebound away to take the lead with 10:11 remaining. The Owls tried to claw back to draw even the remainder of the contest, but KSC was unable to record another shot on frame, with Adrian Bueno's shot with under two minutes remaining missing the target as RIC held on for the 2-1 victory.
