How it Happened
Michaela DiCiccio continued to be a huge part of the Owls' success throughout the season by making a pair of saves early in the first three minutes of the contest. Over the next 17 minutes on the other side of the field, Liv Desruisseaux made three saves for PSU, while three more shots for the Owls missed the target. Over the same timeframe, PSU recorded one shot, but Clara Wilson's shot hit the crossbar and stayed out of the net, while the remainder of the opening half, neither team recorded a shot on goal and the teams headed into the half tied at 0-0.
DiCiccio opened the second half by making another save for the Owls before Tschudin found the back of the net shortly after in the 59th minute.
Mikayla Ryan sent a pass over the Panthers' defense to Tschudin, who headed it home just inside the post past Desruisseaux for her fourth goal of the season. Desruisseaux bounced back for PSU, making three more saves in net over the next 21 minutes, but KSC was not done as O'Connell sent a perfectly placed high and arching shot from far outside the box into the top left corner of the goal to put KSC ahead a pair with 10:33 remaining. O'Connell's shot ended up being the dagger as PSU was unable to record another shot on frame the rest of the way and KSC secured the 2-0 victory.
