NEWPORT, R.I. – Ty Ferris was too much for the Keene State College men's soccer team on Tuesday night as he netted three goals for Salve Regina University and the Owls were unable to claw their way back, with the Seahawks defeating the Owls. 4-0.

How it Happened
Ferris netted his first goal of the game for the Seahawks 109 seconds into the contest as he put SRU ahead 1-0 on the team's first shot on goal. KSC tried to draw even over the next 24 minutes, but all three of the Owls' shots didn't find the back of the net and both the Owls' corner kicks did not result in a goal with Liam Hewin's shot being blocked,
Edoardo Tambini's shot being kicked away on a defensive save from Max Melnik, and
Dorian Wilczynski's shot went wide as SRU held on for the 1-0 lead in the 25th minute. The rest of the opening half each goalkeeper made a save in net with
Tommaso Lorrai making a save for KSC and Nick Giorgi made a save for the Seahawks, with SRU holding onto their 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
108 seconds into the second half KSC looked to score early in the half, just like SRU did in the opening half, but Giorgi held strong by making a save in goal, but just a few minutes later on the other side of the field Ferris struck again to put the Seahawks up 2-0 in the 53rd minute. Over the next 15 minutes KSC tried to draw even, but Giorgi made a pair of saved in net, while
Mateu Farre-Torres made a save in net for KSC after entering at halftime for the Owls over the same time span. Despite the two-goal lead, the Seahawks continued to apply the pressure on KSC, but after the Owls' defense blocked a pair of shots in a minute, KSC was called for a penalty, resulting in SRU's third goal of the game as Kevin Rivas netted the PK with 15:05 remaining. Both goalies made a save in net over the next 10 minutes before Ferris found the back of the net for his hat trick with 4:08 remaining to give SRU the 4-0 victory.
