Owls Blank Anna Maria 5-0 Win Fifth Straight

PAXTON, MA. 10/10/01 - The Keene State College women's soccer team won its fifth straight, a 5-0-road victory over Anna Maria College on Wednesday.

After Katie Parkinson (South Kingstown, R.I.) put in a rebound to give KSC a 1-0 half-time lead, the Owls exploded for four unanswered goals in the second half.

Jessica Williams (Nashua, NH) scored a pair, and freshmen Karyn Long (Menands, NY) and Katelyn Rinaldi (Greenfield, MA.) scored late in the half. It was the first collegiate goals for both Long and Rinaldi.

'It was nice to see us find the back of the net,' said KSC Coach Denise Lyons.

Michelle Mason (Fairport, NY) made two saves for her seventh shutout of the season.

Keene State (12-3) returns home to face R.I. College in a Little East Contest on Saturday (1 p.m.). Anna Maria falls to 8-5-1.
