PAXTON, MA. 10/10/01 - The Keene State College women's soccer
team won its fifth straight, a 5-0-road victory over Anna Maria
College on Wednesday.
After Katie Parkinson (South Kingstown, R.I.) put in a rebound
to give KSC a 1-0 half-time lead, the Owls exploded for four
unanswered goals in the second half.
Jessica Williams (Nashua, NH) scored a pair, and freshmen Karyn
Long (Menands, NY) and Katelyn Rinaldi (Greenfield, MA.) scored
late in the half. It was the first collegiate goals for both Long
and Rinaldi.
'It was nice to see us find the back of the net,' said KSC Coach
Denise Lyons.
Michelle Mason (Fairport, NY) made two saves for her seventh
shutout of the season.
Keene State (12-3) returns home to face R.I. College in a Little
East Contest on Saturday (1 p.m.). Anna Maria falls to 8-5-1.
