No. 24 Owls Tie Up UMass-Dartmouth, 2-2

'FALL RIVER, MA. 10/31/02 - The Keene State College men's soccer team battled to a 2-2 tie with UMA-Dartmouth in a Little East Conference game played Thursday at Britland Park in Fall River MA.

Already assured of a place in the upcoming Little East Tournament, Keene State  (10-4-3, 3-1-2 LEC) was hoping to improve its seeding and get a home game.  UMA-Dartmouth goes to 11-3-2 (4-1-1 LEC).

"I'm disappointed that we didn't win, but it was a great game nonetheless," said KSC Coach Ron Butcher.

Jason Lombardo (Woburn, MA.) open the scoring for KSC just 1:46 into the game when he scored on a penalty kick after being tripped in the box.  It was his team-leading 10th goal of the season.

After a goal by George Pinto tied the scored 1-1 at half, KSC took a 2-1 lead 10 minutes into the second half on a goal by John Harke (Northampton, MA.) A nice crossing ball from Joey Amaio (Wethersfield, CT) set up the goal.

The Owls held the lead until seven minutes to go in the game when Vesslin Tzolov scored for the Corsairs. Neither team was able to muster a strong scoring opportunity in two overtime periods.

KSC's D.J. Nordmark (So. Windsor, CT) and UMD's Jorge Forseca each finished the game with three saves each.

KSC concludes its regular-season at home against UMA-Boston on Saturday (2 p.m.).
