'KEENE. N.H. 11/2/02 - The Keene State College men's soccer team
wrapped up its regular season schedule with a 5-0 Little East
Conference victory over UMA-Boston at Owl Stadium Complex on
Saturday.
Keene State, 11-4-3 (4-1-2 LEC) finishes third in the LEC and
will travel to rival Plymouth State on Wednesday for an opening
round tournament game against the Panthers, who upset UMA-Dartmouth
1-0 today.
The Owls got goals from five different players. Justin
Hickman (Mont Vernon, N.H.) and Jim Hogan (Holderness, N.H.) gave
KSC a 2-0-halftime lead. It was Hickman's first goal of the
season.
Casey Banks (Westborough, MA.), Francisco Vasconcelos and Nick
Fero (Fiskdale, MA.) added second half goals for the Owls who had a
45-5 shot advantage in the game.
D.J. Nordmark (South Windsor, CT) (two saves) and Matt Caron
(Hebron, CT) (one save) both saw time in goal for KSC.
Michael Tady finished with 19 saves for the Beacons, who conclude
their season with a 3-13-2 (0-6-1 LEC) record.
KSC seniors, Mike Monteiro (Hudson, MA.), Dermott O'Sullivan
(New Salem, N.Y.), Jason Simone (New Salem, N.Y.), Trevor Klein
(Rochester, Vt.), Jeff Dupont (Richamond, TX.), Steve Curry (Lyme,
CT) and Nordmark were honored prior to the start of the game.
