'AMHERST, MA. 9/19/02 - The Keene State College men's soccer
team saw its three game winning come to an end on Thursday with a
4-0 loss to Amherst College.
The Lord Jeffs scored two goals in each half. Perry
Franklin scored on a header to give Amherst a 1-0 lead at the 35:38
mark and Chris Kane made it a 2-0 game with his break away goal
with 8:49 to play in the half.
Christian Alexander extended the Jeffs lead to 3-0 10 minutes
into the second half and Robert Lane completed the scoring with 15
minutes to play in the game.
"We didn't come to play," said KSC Coach Ron Butcher after the
game.
D.J. Nordmark made seven saves for the Owls while Greg Lockwood
finished with five stops for Amherst.
Keene State (4-3) will look to get back on the winning track
when it hosts MA College of Liberal Arts on Saturday (1 p.m.). It
was the first win of the season for Amherst (1-1).
