'TROY, N.Y. 10/14/03 - The Keene State College men's soccer team
netted two goals in each half on the way to a 4-1 non-conference
victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. on
Tuesday.
Jimmy Hogan (Holderness, N.H.) put KSC on the board when he
scored on a corner play set up by Kyle Wood (Manchester, Conn.) and
John Harke (Leeds, Mass.). Justin Hickman (Mont, Vernon,
N.H.) directed in a cross from Steve Curry (Lyme, Conn.) three
minutes later to give KSC a 2-0 lead at the break.
After RPI got one back on a goal by Craig DiDominico early in
the second half, KSC answered with goals by Eric Scott (West
Springfield, Mass.) and Nick Trottier (White River Junction,
Vt.). Jason Lombardo (Woburn, Mass.) assisted on the Owls'
last two goals.
Brandon Beck (Johnstown, N.Y.) made three saves for KSC while
Greg Goehle finished with eight saves for the Engineers.
Keene State travels to Eastern Conn. on Saturday for a LEC
contest that begins at 1 p.m.
