'KEENE, N.H. 10/16/03 - The Keene State College women's soccer
team rallied from a 2-1 deficit midway in the second half to post a
come-from-behind 3-2 non-conference victory over Framingham State
College at Owl Athletic Complex on Thursday night.
Keene State improves to 10-3-2 while Framingham falls to 5-5.
Framingham State took a 1-0 halftime lead on a goal by Amber
Goodreau (Ludlow, Mass.) Goodreau jumped on a lose ball and
beat KSC goalie Michelle Mason (Fairport, N.Y.) with a shot to the
far corner.
Daniela Ferrara (Billerica, Mass.) had a chance to extend the
Rams lead, but Mason stopped her point blank shot early in the
opening minutes of the second half. Minutes later Jill
Gendron (Feeding Hills, Mass.) hit the post.
After Tara Wagner (Avon, Conn.) was tripped in the box, Michelle
Harmon (Nashua, N.H.) tied the game on a penalty kick.
Gendron gave FSC a 2-1 lead when she knocked in a bad angle
cross by Kaitlyn Rea (Mansfield, Mass.) into the corner of the net.
KSC's Sarah Miller (Walpole, N.H.) knotted the score again when
she headed in Harmon's shot into the box. Wagner got the
game-winner three minutes later after she drove a lose ball in the
crease into the top corner of the net.
Mason finished with four saves while Christina Sullivan (Natick,
Mass.) had nine saves for the Rams.
Keene State hosts Eastern Conn. in a key Little East game on
Saturday (1 p.m.)
