'RIVERSIDE, CA. 3/19/03 – The Keene State College
baseball dropped a 9-4 game to California Baptist, an NAIA Division
I school, Wednesday in Riverside California. The Owls (0-6)
have yet to win a game during their spring week trip.
KSC took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a double by Nick
Bujeaud (Lincoln, N.H.) and John Trubiano's (Keene, N.H.) second
home run of the season.
California Baptist came back to score two runs in the second,
third, fifth and seventh innings to take an 8-3 lead.
Mike MAeur, who had a two hits, (Warwick, R.I.) knocked in a
couple of Owl runs later in the game with a fielder's choice and an
RBI single.
Travis Muckle (Bennington, Vt.) had three hits and Trubiano
finished with two hits to lead KSC's offense.
Starter Buzzy Francis (Bedford, N.H.) (0-2) took the loss on the
mound. He gave up four runs on four hits with four strikeouts and
three walls in four innings of work. Corey Hartson
(Merrimack, N.H.) gave up five runs in his four innings on the
mound.
After taking Thursday off, Keene State resumes its schedule with
games against Pamona-Pitzer and Claremont Mudd-Scripps College on
Friday.
