'KEENE, N.H. 4/15/02 – Freshman pitcher
Corey Bell (Swanzey, N.H.) notched his first college win and Pat
Austin (Wallingford, CT) and John Maryanski (Nashua, N.H.)
collected three RBIs each to lead the Keene State College baseball
team to a 8-5 non-conference victory over Colby-Sawyer College at
Owl Stadium Complex on Tuesday.
Keene State improves to 6-11 while CSC falls to 6-11.
Trailing 2-0, the Owls took the lead for good with a three-run
third inning. Trubiano knocked in a pair on an infield hit
and error and Pat Austin had an RBI single.
Maryanski doubled in a run in the fourth and had a two run
double in the fifth.
Austin and John Trubiano (Keene, N.H.) had three hits each in
the game to lead the 16 hit attack.
Mark McKinnon (Rumford, R.I.), Nick Kuklinski (Wareham, MA.) and
Kevin Fleurie (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) collected three hits each as the
Chargers finished with 15 hits in the game.
Bell, who struck out six and didn't walk a batter, scattered 10
hits to pick up the pitching win. Corey hartson
(Merrimack, N.H.) who pitched 1.2 innings of hitless ball got his
second save of the season.
Starter Asher Ellis (Ludlow, Vt.) (1-1) took the loss for CSC.
KSC plays at Amherst College (3:30) on Wednesday.
