'KEENE, N.H. 4/17/03– The Fitchburg State College
baseball team scored runs in every inning except the fourth and
ninth on the way to posting a 13-5 non-conference victory over
Keene State College at Owl Stadium Complex on Thursday.
Keene State falls to 6-13 while Fitchburg State goes to 8-11.
The Owls scored three runs in the third inning on RBI hits from
John Trubiano (Keene, N.H.), Justin Hickman (Mont, Vernon, N.H.)
and Travis Muckle (Bennington, Vt.). Eric Kilburn (Keene,
N.H.) also went 2-for-4 in the game for KSC.
Mike Savastano (Plymouth, MA.) had three hits and three RBIs to
lead the Falcons. Brian Milleisen (Miller, Place, N.Y.)
went three-for five with two RBIs; Tim Raymond (Sutton, MA.) was
2-for-6 with two RBIs. Andrew Ruth (Townsend, MA.), who went
two-for four hits the only homerun of the game a solo shot in the
third inning. Steve O'Brien (Lowell, MA.) also collected four
hits for FSC, which finished with 19 hits.
Starter Mike Corsano (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) (0-1) took the loss
for the Owls. Nick Barnes (Westford, MA.) (3-1) picked up the
win for Fitchburg State.
Keene State will play UMA-Boston at Babson College on Saturday
(12 p.m.).
