'WORCESTER, MASS.  9/10/03 - Erin Lester's penalty kick goal midway in the second half lifted Keene State College to a 1-0 non-conference women's soccer victory over Clark University in Worcester on Wednesday.

KSC improves to 2-1 while Clark (3-1) lost its first game of the season.

The Owls dominated play, but could not finish numerous scoring chances. 

The penalty kick goal by lester came after a hand ball was called in the box.  It was Lester's third goal of the season.

"We had trouble at the start adjusting to their turf field," said KSC Coach Denise Lyons.

Michelle Mason (Fairport, N.Y.) turned aside five shots for her second shutout of the season.  Rebecca Denzan made 11 saves for the Cougars.

KSC travels to New York for the Oneonta State Tournment this weekend.
