'KEENE, N.H. 9/24/03 - Freshman Nick Trottier had a goal
and an assist to lead the Keene State College men's soccer team to
a 3-0 shutout victory over Westfield State on a fog covered Owl
Athletic Complex field on Wednesday in Keene.
Keene State waited until the final minute of the first half to
get on the board. With 37 seconds left to go Jason Lombardo
(Woburn, Mass.) put in a corner kick by Nick Trottier (White River
Junction, VT). It was Lombardo's fifth goal of the
season.
Luke Trill (Northfield, Mass.) doubled the lead 26 seconds into
the second half on a rebound shot from Justin Hickman (Mont Vernon,
N.H.).
KSC goalie Brandon Beck (Johnstown, N.Y.) kept it a 2-0 game
with a sliding save on Dave Nalewanski (Easthampton, Mass.) seven
minutes later.
Trottier added the final margin of victory with a shot from
Jimmy Hogan (Holderness, N.H.) at 86:13.
Beck had six saves to notch his first shutout of the season for
KSC. Brian Giinisi (Millbury, Mass.) had four saves and Nick
Beauchamp (Dracut, Mass.) had one save for WSC.
Keene State hosts Western Conn. State in a Homecoming contest on
Saturday at 1 p.m.
