WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS.- Williams College erupted for three
unanswered goals in span of 10 minutes in the second half to post a
4-2 non-conference women's soccer victory over Keene State College
in Williamstown, on Wednesday afternoon.
The loss snapped KSC's (8-4-1) three game winning streak while
Williams improves to 6-3-1.
Tara Wagner (Avon, Conn.) gave the Owls an early 1-0 lead when
she slipped the ball past Eph's goalie Sarah Ginsburg just 5:33
into the game. After Williams tied the score on a goal by Alix
Oliver, KSC regained the lead when Breanne Lucey (Keene, N.H.)
scored her team-leading ninth goal of the season following a corner
kick.
That was the end of the scoring for the Owls, who saw their 2-1
lead disappear in the second half. Afton Johnson, Ana Sani, and
Lindsay Dwyer found the back of the net for the Ephs.
Michelle Mason (Fairport, N.Y.) made five saves for Keene State
while Abby Taylor, who came in to play after Ginsburg gave up the
first goal, finished with six saves for Williams.
Keene State travels to Eastern Conn. for a key Little East game
on Saturday (1 p.m.).
