KEENE, N.H. 10/6/04- Lisa Bergeron's (Keene, N.H.) goal late in
the first half was the difference in Keene State College's 1-0
shutout victory over Worcester State College in a non-conference
women's soccer game played Wednesday night at Owl Athletic Complex.
Bergeron, a sophomore transfer from UConn, pounced on a rebound
of Breanne Lucey's (Keene, N.H.) shot and fired it into the far
corner for her second goal of the season.
Lancer goalie Kim Massa (Westford, Mass.) kept it a one goal
game with a save of Tara Wagner's (Avon, Conn.) point-blank shot at
the 39:40 mark of the second half. KSC kept the ball in WSC's side
of the field the remainder of the second half , not allowing the
Lancers to produce a strong scoring opportunity. Lauren Cush
(Hudson, Mass.) had the best chance to get the equalizer, but her
shot with 3:10 remaining sailed left over the cross bar.
Michelle Mason (Fairport, N.Y.) had two saves to notch her fifth
shutout of the season. Massa finished with nines saves for the
Lancers (5-4-1)Keene State, undefeated in their last five games,
improves to 7-3-1.
