'KEENE, N.H. 4/30/04 - Keene State College lost a 18-11
non-conference baseball game to Springfield College on Friday
afternoon at Owl Athletic Complex.
The two teams combined for 29 hits in the game.
Springfield scored 13 runs in the first three innings that
included a bases clearing triple by Anthony Gornault (Longmeadow,
Mass.) and a two run home run from James Minor (Methuen, Mass.),
his first of the game in a six-run third inning
KSC came back with nine runs in the bottom of the third that
included a three-run double by Matt Orszulak (Campton, N.H.).
Orszulak went three-for-four with four RBIs for KSC
(13-17-1). Mike Masseur (Warwick, R.I.) also went
two-for-four.
Matt Basteri (Melrose, Mass.) went three-for-four with five RBIs
while Gournalt and James Minor (Methuen, Mass.) had three hits and
four RBIs for the Pride (14-11). Minor belted a pair of home
runs to up his season total to eight.
Kevin Davidson (Claremont, N.H.) got the win (3-3). Jason
Shea (Hatfield, Mass.) took the loss for KSC.
Keene State travels to Eastern Conn. for a LEC doubleheader on
Saturday (noon.).
