FRAMINGHAM, MASS. 9/11/04 - Keene State College snapped a two
game losing skid with a 4-0 shutout victory over Framingham State
College in a non-conference women's soccer game played Saturday in
Framingham, Mass.
It was the 35th career shutout for Owl senior goalie Michelle
Mason (Fairport, N.Y.) breaking the previous mark set by Susan
Woodworth (1986-88).
Scoreless in their last two game, KSC netted three first half
goals. Amber-Lynn Lyman (Hinesburg, Vt.) was sent in by Tara Wagner
(Avon, Conn.). Keene native Lisa Bergeron and Katie Stevens
(Londonderry, N.H.) followed with their first goals of the season
later in the half.Wagner added an unassisted goal in the second
half.
KSC,which dominated play, had a 22-3 shot advantage.
Mason made one save on the way to the shutout while Christina
Sullivan (Natick, Mass.) stopped nine shots for the Rams (0-3).
Keene State (2-2) returns to Owl Athletic Complex for its home
opener on Wednesday (5 p.m.) against Westfield State.
