MIDDLEBURY, VT. 9/22/04 - The Keene State College women's soccer
team saw its two game winning streak come to and end with a 4-2
non-conference loss on the road at Middlebury College on Wednesday.
Brittany Cronin scored two goals for the Panthers, who remain
undefeated with a 4-0 record.
Michelle Harmon (Nashua, N.H.) gave Keene State (3-3) an early
1-0 lead with her first goal of the season, a blast from 25-yards
out, just 5:33 into the game. Middlebury answered with three goals
to take a 3-1 lead.
KSC cut the deficit to one goal (3-2) when Harmon set up Breanne
Lucey (Keene, N.H.) for her team-leading fourth goal of the season.
The Owls pushed forward in an attempt to get the equalizer, but
Cronin sealed the win for Middlebury when she scored on a rebound
in the final seconds of play.
Michelle Mason (Fairport, N.Y.) made 12 saves for Keene State
while Els Van Woert finished with six saves for Middlebury.
Keene State returns home to play Little East rival Western Conn.
on Saturday (1 p.m.) at Owl Athletic Complex.
