PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. 9/5/04 - It wasn't a good Labor Day Weekend
for the Keene State College women's soccer team in upper state New
York. The Owls suffered a pair of shutouts at the Plattsburgh State
Cardinal Classic.
After dropping a 3-0 game to Skidmore College on Saturday, KSC
lost a 1-0 heartbreaker to host team 1-0 on Sunday. Gena
Rosenbaum's goal just 10 seconds into the first overtime game
Plattsburgh (2-1) the victory. The Owls, who fall to 1-2, mustered
just six shots on net.
Michelle Mason (Fairport, N.Y.) finished the game with five
saves for KSC while Joia Aliperti stopped three Owl shots.
"It was tough to lose both games of the tournament, but I
thought we learned a lot about ourselves," said KSC Coach Denise
Lyons. "We need to go back to work."
KSC's Michelle Harmon, a junior midfielder from Nashua, was
selected to the All-Tournament team.
Keene State will play at Framingham State next Saturday (2
p.m.).
