Mass.) and Alex Horne had a goal and two assists each to lead the
Keene State College men's soccer team to a 5-1 Little East
Conference victory over UMass-Dartmouth at Sumner Joyce Field on
Saturday.
Improving to 11-2-2 (5-0 LEC), the 19th ranked Owls remain on
top of the LEC standings while UMass-Dartmouth falls to 4-8-2
(0-5-1 LEC).
Freshman Shawn Booth (Windsor Locks, Conn.) got KSC on the board
3:43 into the game when he headed in Scott's corner kick.
Taking a feed from Horne in the box, Scott gave the Owls a 2-0
halftime lead when he fired a shot by Corsair goalie Adam Rolfe
(Southwick, Mass.). It was his team-leading 11th goal of the
season.
Horne sent Mike Cooley (Northborough, Mass.) in for a break away
goal just 48 seconds into the second half to extend KSC's lead to
3-0. Cooley, a freshman, has nine goals on the season. Horne
tallied his 10th goal of the season, and his third in the last two
games, three minutes later.
