'KEENE, N.H. 09/10/05 - Keene State College netted four goals in
the first nine minutes of the game on the way to rolling to a 7-1
non-conference women's soccer victory over Framingham State on
Saturday.
Keene State (3-0-1) remains undefeated while Framingham State
falls to 0-2.
Katie Stevens (Londonderry, N.H.) had two goals and two assists,
and Courtney Gately (Canton, Mass.) netted a pair of goals in the
first half explosion. Gately has scored four goals in the Owls;
last two games.
Freshman Caitlin Nickerson (Belfast, Me.) scored her first
college goal 57 seconds into the second half. Kathleen Keniston
(Minneapolis, Minn.) and Renee Halsey (Francestown, N.H.), added
goals for KSC.
KSC lost its shutout when Ram goalie Ashley Baker (Mansfield,
Mass.) came out of the net and scored on a direct kick from
60-yards out.
KSC used all of its three goalies. Sarah Campbell (Auburn,
Mass.) had two saves, Samantha Hirsh had one save, and Kaitlin
O'Malley (Watertown, Mass.) didn't make s a save. Baker
finished with 11 saves for the Rams.
Keene State has won the last five meeting between the two teams.
The Owls play at Westfield State on Thursday (7 p.m.).
