'ONEONTA, N.Y.. 9/3/05 - Keene State College and the
University of Scranton (Pa.) battled to a scoreless tie in a
opening round game of the Hartwick College Women's Soccer
Tournament in Oneonta, N.Y. on Saturday.
Keene State goes to 1-0-1. It was the first game of the
season for the University of Scranton.
Both teams had chances to win the game. The Owls best
opportunity came in the final moments of regulation. Junior
midfielder Tara Wagner(Avon, Conn.) broke in alone, but her shot
was smothered by Scranton goalie Jackie Colley.
Scranton outshot KSC 11-3 and had a 6-0 advantage in
corner kicks.
Senior goalie Sarah Campbell (Auburn, Mass.) turned aside five
shots to record her second straight shutout. Colley finished
with three saves for the Lady Royals.
Keene State plays host Hartwick, which dropped its opening game
to Allegheny 6-1, on Sunday at Noon.
